Science: 1.Physical Attributes Needed To Be the Best in Sport of Baseball:
Senses: Sight, Hearing, Touch
Muscle Groups ( describe if they should be fast and or strong): Baseball players need to be strong, and they need to be fast. Regarding muscles, speed, acceleration, and quickness are not the same as endurance and strength. A player won’t achieve great speed by only training for strength. Speed is determined, not only by how strong muscles are, but by how quickly they react and contract. Players will also need endurance so they do not tire quickly and have enough left in the late innings. Players also need muscle contraction speed, which ultimately will determine how fast they can swing the bat. The faster baseball players can swing a bat, the more power that will be generated.
Muscle groups for arm and upper body strength: Biceps, Triceps, Deltoids, Trapezius, Latissimus dorsi, Abdominls, Pectorals.
Muscle groups for leg strength: Quadriceps, Hamstrings, Gastrocnemius Solcus, Gluteus Maximus.
Mental focus skills: Self-control, mental alertness, baseball player’s ability to realize when they are losing focus and how to get it back imediately.
2.Dietary Requirements: Calorie Requirements
Calories are a baseball player’s source of energy. According to the President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports (PCPFS), baseball players and other athletes require 3,000 to 3,500 calories daily, versus 2,000 to 2,400 calories for an average adult. Baseball players can determine if they are getting enough calories by monitoring their weight and energy levels.
Diet
A healthy diet for a baseball player should get 45 to 65 percent of its calories from carbohydrates, 10 to 35 percent of calories from protein and 20 to 35 percent of calories from fat, according to the PCPFS.
Nutrient-Dense Foods
The healthiest foods for a baseball player are nutrient-dense foods, because they have a high nutrient-to-calorie ratio. Examples of nutrient-dense foods are fruits, vegetables, whole grains, low-fat dairy products and lean proteins. A diet rich in nutrient-dense foods can meet a baseball player’s daily vitamin and mineral requirements without the use of supplements.
Vitamins and Minerals
Vitamins that are particularly important for athletes include the B vitamins thiamine, riboflavin and niacin, according to Colorado State University (CSU). The B vitamins help convert food into energy and are found in dairy products, eggs, grains, meat and poultry. Important minerals for a baseball player include sodium, potassium, iron and calcium because they support proper functioning of the heart and muscles, strong bones and healthy blood. Essential minerals are found in fruits and vegetables, meat, milk and grain products.
Hydration
Baseball players need to stay well hydrated because dehydration can lead to overheating and other life-threatening conditions. According to CSU, baseball players should drink 6 to 12 cups of water before practice or a game, and half a cup of water every 10 to 15 minutes during periods of intense activity. Baseball players should drink 2 cups of fluid for every pound of weight loss after an event.

Physical: Baseball is a physical sport requiring strength and speed. Athletes need to be in shape, healthy and have the endurance to play nine innings at a time. However, is not just the game itself, but it also requires much practice of skills and physical drills.
Mental/Emotional: In the game of baseball, a player must be able to stay positive no matter what happens on the field or in a person's life. Player's should not stress out about situations in a game; for example, with two outs in the ninth inning, the batter should relax and do what he does best. Similarly, with two outs in the ninth inning with bases-loaded, the pitcher should remain calm and in control.
Social: Baseball is a social game because their are many players on a team. All the players support each other to do their best. For example, when someone hits a homerun the teamates is happy for him and cheers him on. Players frequently socialize together after games. Also, fans watching the games make it a social time for everyone.
Intellectual: The players need to know all their plays of what to do with men on base or men off of the bases. The players need to remember all the signs the coachs or catchers tell them. Batters have to be aware of what is a good pitch to swing at orwhat is a bad pitch not to swing at even when the ball is coming 98 mph at him.
Spiritual: Baseball players, like other people, frequently praise God for helping them to get a hit, pitch a shut-out, or make a nice catch. These players probably pray to God on their own time to help them get through the day and help them have a great game. Religion can often help a player to be more at peace and to be more relaxed.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) oversees the events. Men and women compete in both summer and winter sporting events. The modern Olympics fascinate people because athletes participate from all around the world and because many different sports create challenges for athletes. First, the modern Olympics began in Athens, Greece on April 6, 1896, when fourteen nations including the United States, Great Britain and Greece sent 241 male athletes to show their skills (www.history.com). The Olympics were reinstated due to the efforts of Baron Pierre de Coubertin from France who had a dream that the Olympics could be used to “restore pride in amateur sports and to restore world peace (Wukovits, 9).” The events at this first Olympics strengthened peace in the amateur sports of wrestling, swimming, cycling, weightlifting, gymnastics, fencing, lawn tennis and shooting. The awards for the first place winner were a diploma, a crown of olive branches and a silver medal since gold was thought to be too elaborate (9). There were no winter games at the first Olympics, probably since the events were in April. Pierre de Coubertin’s amazing idea is still going today. Second, the athletes are challenged due to the sport they take part in, and from the competition they meet from around the world. For example, ice hockey is played in many countries, but when ice hockey is played as an Olympic game all the fans around the world watch it. Many people like ice hockey, particularly at the Olympics since the best players from professional hockey teams go head to head against each other as they represent their country. Every team has its own training facilities. The United States Olympic hockey team practices in Colorado Springs at the U.S. Olympic Complex, where many of the other winter athletes train (www.teamusa.org). The USA athletes have become better and stronger since this complex was built. Traditionally the strongest teams are U.S. and Canada. At the winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada 2010, the Canada ice hockey team won the gold medal beating the U.S. The U.S. has a very strong chance of getting either the gold, silver, or bronze medal in 2014, because they have a lot of strong athletes. Team USA will be challenged by Canada and the Soviet Union (Wukovits 68). The Soviet Union today is Russia. These teams are also good because they practice hard and never give up even when they are losing. Overall, the winter Olympics including hockey provides challenges for world class athletes who do the best they can do for their countries. In conclusion, Modern International Olympics becomes the center of attention whenever the Olympics are played. Many people like to watch the Olympics to see the best athletes in their country participate and to bring honor to their country in a peaceful environment under the banner of the IOC. The Olympics interest people because athletes contribute and try their best in a global setting, and because the diverse games make the athletes test their skills against each other.
